History of the Volvo XC90
Initially released in 2002, the Volvo XC90 was a bestseller, extremely popular in both Europe and the US.
In 2007, the XC90 underwent a subtle but stylish facelift and introduced some new features, including a restyled front fascia and an upgraded interior. The interior pushed luxury and comfort, paving the way for the modern XC90.
The 2014 release catapulted the model into a top tier medium-size SUV built for luxury and sustainability. It wasn’t just a new car release, but an entirely new way of thinking for Volvo. The Swedish manufacturer doubled down on luxury with a leather and wood interior, improved 19 speaker sound system, and seven genuine leather seats. Available Options for the Volvo XC90
There are a handful of different options available for the XC90. It’s typically available in 9 different colours - Crystal White Pearl Metallic, Luminous Sand Metallic, Onyx Black, Twilight Bronze Metallic, Bright Silver Metallic, Ice White, Savile Grey Metallic, Osmium Grey Metallic and Electric Silver Metallic.
There are three different trims available:
- Momentum: Base model with few bells and whistles. 19 inch 6-spoke turbine sparkling silver alloy wheel, leather upholstery, and linear walnut decor inlays.
- R-Design: Sporty design, both inside and out. 20 inch 5-spoke black diamond-cut alloy wheels, Nubuck upholstery, and metal mesh inlays.
- Inscription: High end, sophisticated luxury. 20 inch 10-spoke black diamond-cut alloy wheels, ventilated Nappa leather, and grey ash inlays.
There are only two engine styles available, both two-litre I-4 engines. The regular boasts 250 horsepower while the premium reaches up to 316.
